White mushroom
Agaricus bisporus
The well-known, all-purpose mushroom that is best when fresh but can also be cooked in many ways.
Description
The white mushroom is the best-known grown mushroom. We grow the mushroom in special rooms or cells which recreate the climate of fall. You can taste this in the flavour: earthy and slightly autumnal. The white mushroom grows to maturity on a bed of compost and earth cover in roughly 3 weeks. After about 17 days, they are picked and packaged.
The freshest mushroom has the best flavour, that is why it is so important to get the mushrooms to consumers as quickly as possible and with as few stops in-between. This precise quality chain has been integrally certified at Oakfield: from rearing to harvest to packaging and distribution.
